Early Season Cruising 2024

Due to adverse weather conditions and high spring tides which can occur early/late
season we list below ‘tips’ which may prove of assistance to you.

  1. We strongly advise you to moor your boat at a public staithe or a public house, near roads or at boatyards (do not wild moor) so in the unlikely event of a problem with your boat you will be easily accessible for assistance.
  2. We strongly advise you not to cruise further south on the River Bure than Stokesby. This is an area of very strong tides and lack of facilities. Please note that the yacht stations at Great Yarmouth and Norwich will not be open until the 1st April 2024.
  3. Do not pass under Potter Heigham or Wroxham bridges without the assistance of the bridge pilot.
  4. Always run your engine either in or out of gear for at least four hours a day to charge the batteries and be sparing with domestic light and power.

We hope these ‘tips’ are of assistance to you.
Please refer to your boat manual for detailed information and boatyard contact numbers if required.

Please do not hesitate to ask for advice or extras before your journey, i.e. bedding etc.
We will only be too pleased to assist you.
