Reedham is a small village within the Southern Broads on the River Yare. Close to the coast, the village has 3 pubs, a children’s animal and adventure park, and some historic sights to see. In this article, we have put together some helpful information should you decide to visit the village during your boating holiday with us!
Whilst small, there are a number of places to moor in the village, both centrally and close to the village’s historic chain ferry. Along the main riverside there are 24 hour Broads Authority Moorings, moorings at Sanderson Marine Craft, and The Ship pub, which is located just before the railway swing bridge.
There are also moorings at Reedham Ferry should you wish to visit the Reedham Ferry Inn pub, but for visiting the village the moorings at Riverside are much better suited for this. The Broads Authority moorings also have a Broads Authority quay attendant during the season to advise on things such as mooring.
The village is home to Pettitts Animal Adventure Park, just a 20-minute walk from the quayside. Great for younger children, this is one of the village’s main attractions. The village is also good for walking, with a woodland footpath to Pettitts as well as being on the Wherryman’s Way walk. The village also features Humpty Dumpty brewery, next door to Pettits.
Reedham benefits from 3 pubs, all of which serve a delicious menu. The Ship and The Lord Nelson, both situated on the riverside, serve delicious traditional pub fare and provide outdoor seating so you can enjoy a drink or your evening meal next to the river. The Ship has an outdoor play area for children, and both pubs has been recently renovated. On the road adjacent to Riverside, there is a delicious fish & chip shop which opens Thursday through till Saturday at select times, as well as Reedham Stores which has a few bits and pieces available if you need to stock up on supplies.
