The Broads Outdoors Festival 2017 officially launched yesterday at the Waveney River Centre on Thursday 27th April. An annual series of events, the festival is put on by the Broads Authority and Broads Tourism and celebrates all that the Broads National Park has to offer. With various events put on by businesses, charities, and more who operate within the Norfolk Broads, this festival is filled with family fun activities from April 30th through until 21st May 2017.
Broads Outdoors Festival 2017 Officially Launches
Running for 22-days this year, extended a week longer than last year’s event, the festival starts with the annual Tour de Broads: South. Tour de Broads has also been expanded this year, with a second event, Tour de Broads: North, taking place in August.
There are also a number of fun events taking place over the course of the 3 weeks, from lovely early morning walks around How Hill Gardens (Tuesday 2 May 2017) to BSUPA Ready to Ride accredited paddleboarding courses (Saturday 13 May 2017).
If you’re holidaying with us at Richardson’s during the festival, lots of the events are easily accessible by boat! There’s events such as the open day at Berney Arms Windmill (Sunday 14 May 2017) with mooring close by, or Beginner’s Photography at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden (Saturday 20 May 2017), which is a leisurely 15-minute walk from local moorings.
There’s full event information for the festival, as well as some nice features to read, inside of the Broads Outdoors Festival guide. The guide is available from our Stalham Marina reception as well as Tourist Information Centres.
