The Bridge Inn

The Bridge Inn has stood by the waters of the River Bure for many hundreds of years serving sailors, smugglers, travellers and locals.

Everyone gets a genuinely warm welcome and special diets are happily catered to at this hospitable inn. Food at the Bridge Inn is fairly priced and home-cooked. The pub is family-friendly featuring a beer garden and children’s play area.

There are moorings outside and nearby for 40 boats with some electric hookup available.

Scooter’s Cafe Acle

Scooter’s Cafe sits in the quiet village centre in Acle. It’s a family run gem that gives the gateway to the Broads a good reason to be admired and provides the perfect excuse to stop and take in the views. Scooters has six passionate members of staff who pride themselves on using fresh, local produce and freshly preparing every meal to order. There is an enclosed, covered courtyard where dogs are welcome. What could be more tempting than sitting in a picturesque village smothered in history? Filby Bridge Restaurant

If you like fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere then Filby Bridge is for you. Enjoy unique views across the Trinity Broads in this family run restaurant established in 1983. Filby Bridge offers a warm welcome and the opportunity to indulge in an extensive A la carte menu of delicious fresh fish and seafood or sumptuous meat dishes.

The waiting staff are friendly and attentive and there is a no rushed service so relaxing is easy. During the day there are a fine range of traditional home cooked lunches available, which include fresh fish as well as their own short crust pastry pies. You can also enjoy a range of fresh ground Italian coffees and traditional sponge cakes.

  • King Neptune’s favourite: fillet steak served with half a lobster and sauce.
  • Fresh fish and seafood platter in hot garlic or lemon butter.
  • Lemon Solewalski: lemon sole with lobster finished with a cheese sauce.
  • Sri Lankan Surfer: fillet steak served with a giant Sri Lankan tiger prawn cooked in homemade coconut milk based Thai sauce, then laid across the top of the steak and the sauces drizzled over.
